Terms

StudyDen is run by STUDYDEN LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17180776, registered office 1 Melbreak Grove, Middlesbrough, TS5 8PP, England. Below, “we” means that company and “you” means the parent or carer whose name is on the account.

Opening an account means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not open one. You can reach a human at support@studyden.co.uk.

You must be 18 or over, and the parent or legal guardian of every child you add. A child never gets their own login, never receives email from us, and cannot make a payment. Everything a child does here happens inside your account, and you can read all of it.

StudyDen plans the week, holds the lessons, keeps the record of what was actually done, and gives you Atlas, an assistant that talks to you and to your child about the work.

It is not a school. It awards no qualifications, reports to nobody on your behalf, and changes nothing about your legal position. If you home-educate, the duty in section 7 of the Education Act 1996 stays yours, and so does any conversation with your local authority.

Atlas runs on a large language model and can be wrong. Check anything that matters. It is not a source of medical, legal, mental-health or safeguarding advice, and it is not supervision.

Talking to Atlas out loud. A child talking to Atlas out loud should have a grown-up nearby. He can be wrong, and because a spoken conversation keeps only his half, being near enough to hear is the only way you know what your child was asked.

A typed conversation is kept in full. From a spoken one we keep what Atlas said. What your child says out loud is not written down, and we do not store it anywhere. The audio goes to OpenAI to be answered and stops there. What we hold sets out every part of it.

• 7 days free on a new account. Stripe takes a card at checkout and does not charge it during those 7 days.
• One free week per account. If you have had it once, starting again begins charging straight away.
• £29.99 a month on the monthly plan.
• £299.88 a year on the annual plan, taken in one payment. That works out at £24.99 a month, and saves £60 against paying monthly for a year.
• Whichever you pick, Stripe shows the amount before you pay, and the Family room shows what you are on and when the next payment is due.
• No VAT is added. STUDYDEN LTD is not VAT registered, so the price above is the whole amount you pay. Nothing is added at the checkout.
• It renews. If you do not cancel before the free week ends, the subscription starts and the card is charged, and it keeps renewing each period until you cancel.
• Stripe takes the payment. We never see your full card number.

• Cancel whenever you like, from Family → Manage the subscription, which opens Stripe’s own billing page. Cancel during the free week and nothing is taken.
• If that button tells you there is no billing record to open, your subscription is untouched and nothing has been cancelled. Email support@studyden.co.uk and we will cancel it for you, from the date you asked.
• Cancelling stops the renewal, not the access. You keep everything to the end of the period you have already paid for.
• If a payment fails, nothing shuts off while Stripe retries the card, which it does over the following couple of weeks. Access ends when the subscription ends.
• Changed your mind after the first charge? Email support@studyden.co.uk within 7 days of it and we refund that charge in full. Later renewals are not covered by that, so cancel before the renewal date to avoid one.
• None of this touches your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which stand whatever this page says.

• Keep the account to your own household. It is not for resale or for sharing about.
• Do not scrape, copy out, or bulk-extract the lessons, and do not use anything here to train another model.
• Do not try to talk Atlas past its safety rules, and do not use it for anything other than a child’s learning.
• Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has it.

• Oak National Academy wrote the lessons in 11 of the 14 subjects. That content stays theirs, used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Islamic studies, PSHE and critical thinking were written for StudyDen.
• The planning, the record, Atlas and the software are ours. While you are subscribed you may use them at home, for your own family.
• What your child writes, says and records is yours. Download the lot any time from the privacy page, and deleting the account deletes it.

• You can delete the account yourself from Family. It goes at once, and the privacy page lists exactly what goes with it.
• We can close an account that breaches these terms, that puts a child at risk, or whose payment has failed and stayed failed. We tell you first where we can, and immediately where a child is at risk.

• We do not promise the site is always up. Maintenance, an outage at one of the companies we rely on, or something outside our control can take it offline for a while.
• Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
• Beyond that, everything we could owe you, added together, is capped at whichever is larger: what you paid us in the twelve months before it happened, or £100.

This version is 2026-08-28, and it is the version recorded against your account when you accepted it. If we change anything that affects your rights, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel rather than accept it.

What we hold about your family lists every table of data this app stores, why it exists and how long it stays, and carries the two buttons that download it all or delete the account. Both pages are reachable from the account menu and from the Family room once you are signed in.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear a dispute about them. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, as a consumer normally may.
