Answers, and what a wrong one tells you

A

1. sept Count the dots out loud in French with your child, touching each one, then find the word that matches the total.

2. bleu Rouge means red. Ask your child to point to the blue square and say bleu aloud.

3. quatre Count together, touching each dot. Then say quatre slowly and ask your child to repeat it.

B

1. je fais le lit If your child picks je fait, say: je takes fais. The s is silent but it is written. Point to the worked example.

C

1. Il If your child picks Je, ask who the sentence is about. Ali is a boy, so the word is il.

2. Elle Mia is a girl, so the word is elle. Check the name first, then the word.

3. les courses Courses means shopping. Ask your child to say the English first, then match the French.

4. Je fais le lit. If your child picks Je fait, say: je always takes fais. Fait is for il and elle.

D

1. to make If your child picks to sleep or to eat, point to faire le lit. Faire means both to do and to make.

E

1. Look for: the ending shows the person: fais goes with je, fait with il or elle; the final s and t are silent

Words to use

Say“Each answer is in the answer column. StudyDen plays the French words aloud in the app, so you can just listen and ask which word changed.”
Instead of“Ask your child to translate every word, or say the French is too hard for them.”

After the sheet

Make a short list of jobs at home. Point to a broom and say elle fait le ménage, then swap who does it.

Tick what your child got right in StudyDen. Anything missed comes back in a later Look back box, so there's no need to redo the sheet.
