For the grown-up

Ibrahim (AS) and the Fire · 2 minutes to read

Answers, and what a wrong one tells you

A

1. Rasul If your child circles Ayah, they have mixed up a verse with a messenger. Point to the middle box and ask who carries the message to people.

2. Al-Hafiz If your child circles Al-Razzaq, remind them that Razzaq means The Provider. Ask which name is about keeping safe.

3. Reason If your child circles Force, explain that Ibrahim (AS) used calm questions and clear thinking, not force.

B

1. Trust Allah's plan If your child circles Give up at once, point to the first two boxes. Ask what Ayesha did already, then what trust means after that.

2. 1 Do your best · 2 Make dua · 3 Feel calm and keep going

C

1. Tawakkul → Trusting Allah after doing your best; Khalil → A close and beloved friend of Allah; Miracle → Something done by Allah's power alone; Prophet → A person chosen by Allah to bring His message If your child joins Tawakkul to Miracle, they have mixed up trust with power. Ask which word is about what a person does.

2. Nimrud If your child circles Ibrahim (AS), remind them that he was the one thrown into the fire, not the king who ordered it.

3. Shows tawakkul: Doing your best, then trusting Allah, Praying calmly before the test · Does not show tawakkul: Giving up because it feels too hard, Refusing to try at all If your child puts Praying calmly into the wrong column, ask whether Allah is being trusted in that moment.

4. 1 Nimrud orders a great fire · 2 Ibrahim is thrown toward the flames · 3 Allah tells the fire to be cool and safe · 4 Ibrahim walks out unharmed If your child puts Ibrahim walks out unharmed first, ask what must happen before he can walk out.

D

1. Look for: Says tawakkul includes doing your best first, not just sitting still and waiting for Allah to act. If your child only says it is wrong, ask: what does a Muslim do before trusting Allah? Then ask them to write that step.

E

1. Look for: Mentions doing your best and trusting Allah, and that Allah's plan is greater than the problem.

Words to use

Say“Which part of the story helps you feel calmest when something is hard?”
Instead of“Tell them the story is only a nice tale from long ago, and move on quickly.”

After the sheet

Pick one small job your child finds hard, such as tidying a shelf. Do it together with full effort, then say a short dua together.

Tick what your child got right in StudyDen. Anything missed comes back in a later Look back box, so there's no need to redo the sheet.
