Answers, and what a wrong one tells you

A

1. green

2. 4

3. 6

B

1. cold If your child circles hot, ask which colours feel calm. Blue, green and purple are cold colours, so the answer is cold.

C

1. warm

2. blue If your child circles red or orange, ask which colour feels calm. Red and orange are hot, so point to the cool one.

3. yellow

4. green If your child circles yellow or orange, remind them these are hot colours. Green is the cool one here.

D

1. Look for: Says Kit is wrong because artists can use imagination and do not always copy real life exactly. If your child says Kit is right, point to the wobbly walls in the picture. Ask if the artist copied a real house or made it up.

E

1. Look for: Names one made-up feature, such as cake walls or a floating roof.

Words to use

Say“What did you imagine that is not real? Show me the wobbly bit.”
Instead of“Draw it so it looks exactly like a real house.”

After the sheet

Look at a box or a mug at home. Draw it lightly, then add one thing you made up, like a swirl or a tree.

Tick what your child got right in StudyDen. Anything missed comes back in a later Look back box, so there's no need to redo the sheet.
