Answers, and what a wrong one tells you

A

1. Ruku If your child says Sujood, that is the forehead on the ground. Point to the middle box and ask what we do when we bow.

2. Tawbah If your child says Sawm, Sawm is fasting. Ask what we do first when we have done wrong, then say sorry to Allah.

3. Sawm If your child circles Hajj, point to Hajj at the end of the list. Ask which pillar is fasting.

B

1. Kind words: Thank you for helping me · Hurtful words: Nobody wants you here

C

1. Kind

2. Hurtful If your child says Kind, ask how Mia's face would look when she hears it.

3. Gheebah If your child says Not gheebah, ask: is Mia there, and would she be upset to hear it? If so, it is gheebah.

4. Not gheebah, because the words are kind

D

1. Look for: Says no, and explains that gheebah is wrong even if true because it would upset Zara who is not there. If your child says yes because it is true, ask: would Zara be upset to hear it? Then explain that gheebah is wrong even if it is true.

E

1. Look for: A kind sentence about a friend, said while the friend is not there.

Words to use

Say“Which words would make your friend smile? How would it feel to hear them when they are not in the room?”
