Answers, and what a wrong one tells you

A

1. Play

2. Clear space away from windows If your child circles the stairs or the glass door, ask what could break or trip them. Then ask them to point to a clear space.

3. Stop

B

1. Share an idea If your child circles 'Wait for someone to ask', they have copied the myth. Ask: what could Zara do before anyone asks her?

2. Cheer on a teammate who tries hard If your child circles 'Shout at teammates', ask how a teammate feels when they hear it. Then ask what they could say instead.

C

1. 1 Stand in a circle with space between you · 2 Call the name of the person you are throwing to · 3 Throw the soft ball gently to them · 4 Cheer when they catch it, or cheer them on if they miss

2. Sharing an idea → Says what you think out loud; Cheering on a teammate → Shows a teammate you noticed their try; Moving into space → Goes to an empty part of the space

3. Say her idea clearly to the team If your child circles 'Keep quiet and let others decide', ask what the team would miss if Tia kept her idea to herself.

4. Look for: Three numbers the child recorded for their own tries, and one thing that helped them.

D

1. Look for: One thing Kit can do without waiting, such as sharing an idea, asking to join or cheering a teammate on. If your child says Kit should wait, ask: what did Ola do before anyone asked her?

E

1. Look for: A way of including a quiet or left-out person in a team challenge.

Words to use

Say“What could you do before anyone asks you to join in?”
Instead of“Tell them they must wait until someone includes them.”
