Answers, and what a wrong one tells you

A

1. towards the target

2. warm up

3. feet apart, knees bent

B

1. roll it a little harder

C

1. 1 Talk about the plan · 2 Try the challenge · 3 Talk about what to change

2. Call the catcher's name before you throw

3. Look for: Three numbers of seconds, one for each try, written in the bars.

4. Eye contact → No words, a look; Hand signal → No words, a wave; Calling “Switch!” → Words, said out loud

D

1. Look for: Says no, and that tactics can fail, so teams should adapt or change plans. If your child says yes, ask what the team would do if the ball kept stopping early. Then agree that a plan can need changing.

E

1. Look for: Two sensible changes to the plan, each with a reason why it could help.

Words to use

Say“What was the plan? What did you change when it did not work, and why?”
Instead of“Just say well done, you were right, and move on.”

After the sheet

In a clear space away from windows, with a soft ball, set out cushions and a box. Time three tries together. Change one thing, then try again.

Tick what your child got right in StudyDen. Anything missed comes back in a later Look back box, so there's no need to redo the sheet.
